Yesterday, 36 students from five continuing education Master’s programs at Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg received their graduation certificates.
The courses are organized by the Centre for Academic Continuing Education at Helmut Schmidt University under the direction of Prof. Dr. Tobias Scheytt, who also hosted the ceremony. The graduates were welcomed by the President Prof. Dr. Klaus Beckmann and the Vice President International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Christina Schäfer. Both emphasized the achievements of the students as well as the support from teaching staff, partners and administration.
The keynote speech was given by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Schreiber on the topic of “Weaponized Bullshit. Democratic resilience in the age of toxic information spaces”. Brigadier General Thorsten Ilg, Deputy Commander and Director of Training at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College, and Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Gary S. Schaal, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, gave welcoming addresses.
Of the current 365 students, 184 are on the Military Leadership and International Security (MFIS) course, including 85 international students. One highlight was the award ceremony for the first graduate of the International Procurement Cooperation (IPC) course, Mr. Simon Dänzer.
