General questions about the study program
The postgraduate degree program is commenced in addition to professional activities after having completed one or several degree program(s) with at least 210 or 240 ECTS credits and two years of professional experience with at least one year of leadership responsibility. After two years or two and a half years, 60 ECTS credits or 90 ECTS credits will be obtained.
The venues may vary depending on the study program. To name just a few of them: Hamburg, Koblenz, Berlin and Vienna. In addition, there are programs that take place almost exclusively online. For more information, please see our study programs: LINK to the programs
On the first day of your study program, technical enrollment will take place at HSU/UniBw H in Hamburg. Directly afterwards, the first on-campus event of the first module of the study program will begin. The enrollment event will start around noon and is expected to last two to three hours. During the event, you will receive all important information on the course of study, your student ID and parking permit, your access data to the IT system of HSU/UniBw H, an introduction to the use of the library, the ILIAS e-learning platform, the functions of the campus management system (registration for examination) of HSU/UniBw H, etc. Please have a laptop or tablet (Android or Apple) with you at the event. This allows you to immediately check whether your technical devices have access to the IT system of HSU/UniBw H.
The part-time study program enables students to study alongside their occupation. Students will be seconded or detached by their employer to attend the on-campus events. This will allow you to concentrate fully on these events. Thus, the study program is very flexible. Since “time” will be your scarcest resource in the period of study, you will learn to use it more and more efficiently during your course of study. During your studies, you will meet people who work in a similar occupational field and who face the same challenges every day. This will help to build a network that you can use for professional questions during and after your studies.

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to enroll for individual modules from the current study programs. The everyday student life and group dynamics, which are very important in a postgraduate degree program, should not be disturbed, if possible. We also offer some further education schemes that can be completed with a certificate of attendance (without award of ECTS credits) as well as certification programs (with award of ECTS credits). There, it is possible to participate in a module or segment of a module. Please find more information here under other offers.
The costs of studying vary depending on the study program. For more information, please see our programs.
Yes. The only important thing is that you meet the admission requirements specified in the respective program and examination regulations. In addition, enrollment on the IPC program requires that a cooperation agreement exists between your institution and HSU/UniBw H.
As a rule, one module (2.5 days of teaching) takes place per month. Vacation periods as well as all public holidays and days off to bridge between a holiday and a weekend are excluded.
There are a few accommodations available at HSU/UniBw H. If you need accommodation during your study period, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can reach us at zww-info@hsu.de or by telephone at +49 40 6541 3376.
Questions about admission requirements
Participants must have completed their first university degree or several university degrees (Diplom, Magister and Master’s degree) with 210 or 240 ECTS credits and have qualified practical professional experience of two years including at least one year of leadership responsibility. Qualified practical professional experience is usually an activity for which a university degree is required.
In some cases, the program and examination regulations provide the possibility of taking “bridging modules”. For example, applicants who have obtained 210 ECTS credits (admission requirement: 240 ECTS credits) can acquire the missing 30 ECTS credits and thus fulfill the admission requirement by taking “bridging modules”. As soon as at least 15 ECTS credits have been acquired through bridging modules, these applicants can be provisionally admitted to the study program. This means that 15 ECTS credits must be obtained before the study program begins with the usual MFIS and LGAN courses. The 15 ECTS credits that are still missing must then be acquired no later than six months after the provisional admission.
The number of vacant study places varies depending on the course of study. . For more information, please see our study programs or contact us at at zww-info@hsu.de or by telephone at +49 40 6541 3376.
The Examination Office will inform you about the admission and request additional documents for the further enrollment process.
