We offer trainees an attractive working environment that offers insights into various areas of the Ministry as well as a wide range of development perspectives on topics such as stable public budgets, digitalization, growth, taxes, and many more. The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at HSU/UniBw H covers the theoretical and conceptual aspects in four course modules. In each two-week module, the trainees are taught work-related subjects such as administrative law, legal methods or also labor law, soft skills (e.g. time management, professional confidence, etc.), digitalization in administrative areas and politics.

University master’s or Diplom degree in the field of economics, political science or IT, with an overall grade of at least “good”, or a master’s degree in computer science (for business or administration), mathematics or a comparable program in the STEM subjects, with an overall grade of at least “good”.

The trainee program at the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) allows economists with no professional experience or those have not worked in the field for a longer period of time to familiarize themselves with working at the BMF. Other disciplines such as mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology or political science may also be considered.
The selection procedure is conducted by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
During the course of the year, the trainee will work in various areas of the Federal Ministry of Finance. HSU/UniBw H contributes with four two-week training modules. The dates of these modules will be coordinated by the BMF and the University.
