During the training, participants’ individual perspectives on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in everyday life, work, and the German Armed Forces will be explored, while examining the current global use of AI in armed forces. An introduction to Military AI is provided by integrating AI methods into the OODA loop, complemented by key concepts such as data analysis, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), and knowledge-based models. Practical modules cover wargaming and simulation-based decision-making, explainable AI (xAI), visualization and decision trees, risks from adversarial attacks, as well as questions of model robustness. The interdisciplinary training is rounded off with the presentation of proven process models such as CRISP-DM, legal frameworks, and the discussion of ethical questions and challenges concerning the responsible use of AI systems in a military context (Human-in-/on-/out-of-the-loop and Meaningful Human Control).
