In terms of contents, the three compulsory modules at HSU/UniBw H build on one another and are to be completed consecutively in accordance with the study plan. The modules are based on the trimester dates of HSU/UniBw H. Each academic year comprises three trimesters. The autumn trimester (HT) runs from October to December, the winter trimester (WT) from January to March and the spring trimester (FT) from April to June. The lecture-free period at HSU/UniBw H is from July to September. The focus of the program is on self-study (blended learning), supplemented by in-person classes worth 45 ECTS credit points. Each module is worth 5 ECTS credit points. This accounts for a workload of 125 hours (including in-person and remote learning phases).
In-person classes take place every 4 to 6 weeks from 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Lecture-free periods and German public holidays are taken into account when planning the in-person courses. At the end of the study program, a master’s thesis must be submitted worth 15 ECTS credit points. This study program is organized by the Center for Postgraduate Studies at Helmut Schmidt University/Bundeswehr University Hamburg (HSU/UniBw H).
